VIETNAM - HO CHI MINH CITY FESTIVAL IN PORTO

The “Viet Nam – Ho Chi Minh City Festival in Porto” organized by Ho Chi Minh City will take place from the 28th to 30th of July 2023 at Alfândega Congress Center, Porto, Portugal. The event was held on the occasion of the visit to Porto by the Ho Chi Minh City delegation led by Mr. Duong Anh Duc, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. The visit will mark a milestone in the Ho Chi Minh City – Porto relationship, as it marks the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation Orientations between Porto and Ho Chi Minh City.

 

There are various economic, cultural and tourism exchange activities within the “Viet Nam – Ho Chi Minh City Festival in Porto”. In particular, the Ho Chi Minh City - Porto Economic Cooperation Forum will be co-chaired by leaders of both cities, with the participation of more than 100 businesses of Ho Chi Minh City, Porto and European countries. Trade and economic counselors of Viet Nam to European countries will also attend the Forum. Thus, the Economic Forum will be the venue for enterprises of both cities to learn about the investment and business environment of Ho Chi Minh City, Porto, to offer recommendations to the leadership of both cities and to attend B2B matchmaking events.

 

Within the framework of the "Viet Nam - Ho Chi Minh City Festival in Porto", several special art performances will be held with the participation of more than 30 artists from the Ho Chi Minh City Hat Boi (Classical Drama) Theater, the Bong Sen Folk Music and Dance, together with artists of Porto. Besides the musical show opening the Festival on Friday morning, July 28, 2023 and the Chi Minh City - Porto cultural show and exchange on Friday evening, July 28, 2023, there will be four art and folk musical shows throughout the 29th and 30th of July at the lobby of the Alfândega Congress Center.

 

Visitors to the "Viet Nam - Ho Chi Minh City Viet Nam Festival in Porto" will experience a truly Vietnamese cultural space with Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional costume) exhibitions where visitors can try on Ao Dai and take photos; display of unique Vietnamese musical instruments, such as Dan Bau (monochord), bamboo flute, Dan Kim (moon lute), Dan Co (Vietnamese two-chord Fiddle), costumes and masks of Hat Boi (Classical Drama); To He (toy figurine) area where visitors can get hands-on experience of making To He with the guidance of artisans; photo exhibition "Ho Chi Minh City – Development and Integration”; display areas of Vietnamese unique products and attractive tourist destinations, etc. Exhibition areas will be open to visitors throughout the Festival, beginning from 9:00 AM, July 28th, 2023.
