On February 18 2022, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism publicised three tourist attractions eligible for the pilot program to welcome and serve international tourists, based on voluntary registration and qualified registration of businesses:
The War Remnants Museum
The War Remnants Museum is located at 26 Vo Van Tan Street, District 3. This is a thematic space for collecting, storing and displaying more than 20,000 documents, images, artifacts about certificates and consequences of the war in Vietnam in the modern period.
Opening hours:
Monday - Friday: 07h30 - 11h30
Saturday & Sunday: 07h30 - 16h30
Entrance fee: 40.000 VND.
The Southern Women's Museum
The Southern Women's Museum in Ho Chi Minh City is located at 202 Vo Thi Sau, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City. Major General Nguyen Ngoc Loan - a South Vietnamese general and chief of the South Vietnamese National Police, used to live here.
The Museum's forerunner was the Traditional House of Southern Women, which was designed to preserve and educate future generations about Vietnamese women's patriotism and traditions.
Opening hours: 08h00 – 11h30 & 13h30 – 17h30.
Free entrance.
The Vietnam History Museum
The Vietnam History Museum is located at 2 Nguyen Binh Khiem Street, District 1, next to the Zoo and Botanical Garden. Inaugurated in 1929, this is the oldest museum in South Vietnam. The museum is built in the architectural style of Indochina and currently holds 36,000 artifacts about the history and cultures of Vietnam, Champa, Oc Eo, Khmer,... and some Asian countries. In particular, inside the museum, there is an intact display of Xom Cai mummy dating back more than 200 years, a noblewoman born during the Nguyen Dynasty, the last feudal dynasty in Vietnam's history.
