On May 13, 2024, a public promotion activity for Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City tourism took place at the Parramatta City Hall, New South Wales. This is the first activity in a series of promotional and tourism promotion events in Australia organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia, the Consulate General of Vietnam in New South Wales, Queensland, and South Australia. The promotional delegation is led by Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, along with more than 24 representatives from airlines, travel businesses, accommodations, cruise ships, and standardized service providers in the tourism industry. The event aims to provide a memorable experience to tourists and is supported by professional associations.

    The public tourism promotion event's ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Ms. Nguyen Cam Tu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center, Mr. Anthony Mazza, Chairman of the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce, and Ms. Fazila Farhad, Chairwoman of the South West & Western Sydney Tourism Association, New South Wales.

      The public promotion activity for Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City tourism took place in an outdoor space at the Parramatta City Hall, New South Wales, located at 82 Church Street, Parramatta NSW 2150. On the first day of the event, it attracted over 1,000 visitors who explored 24 booths showcasing exemplary tourism products and services from Vietnamese businesses in Ho Chi Minh City. Visitors also had the opportunity to engage in cultural and traditional Vietnamese arts experiences. They participated in activities such as sculpting clay figurines, painting conical hats, traditional folk dancing, and witnessed a performance of silk painting by Artist and Designer Trung Dinh. There was also a fashion show featuring the participation of Miss Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau, Miss Universe Vietnam 2022, and Miss Bui Thi Xuan Hanh, the reigning Miss Universe Vietnam 2023. Additionally, guests enjoyed musical instrument performances and traditional dances by a group of artists from the Bong Sen Music and Dance Theater.

      The public tourism promotion activities will continue on May 14, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, in the outdoor area of Parramatta Town Hall. Additionally, the business networking program between tourism businesses from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and New South Wales, Australia, along with the Vietnam Night program, will take place in the afternoon of May 14, 2024. It is expected to attract more than 150 tourism enterprises to participate.
