The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism determined in the 2022 Tourism Development Plan that, in addition to Shopping Tourism, Eco-tourism, and Cultural Tourism, MICE Tourism is one of the four main categories of tourism that must be focused on in the future.

At the Launching Ceremony of the campaign "Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh chào đón bạn - Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City" taking place on April 8, 2022, the Department of Tourism together with the (1) Immigration Department, (2) Southern Airport Authority, (3) Ho Chi Minh City Police Department, (4) Department of Culture and Sports, (5) Department of Industry and Trade, (6) Department of Transport, (7) Department of Information and Communications, (8) Ho Chi Minh City Pioneer Force and (9) Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association have signed the joint implementation of the Ho Chi Minh City MICE Tourism Program, agreeing to implement specific coordination contents from 2022 to 2025.

The signing ceremony aims to unify the implementation of key contents such as:

(1) Formulating and promulgating “Ho Chi Minh City MICE Tourism Policy”;

(2) Developing Ho Chi Minh City tour programs;

(3) Establishing Ho Chi Minh City MICE Tourism Working Group.
